Wondrous Partnership from Local Retailer

One of the most festive and eclectic stores year-round, Wondrous Things in Briar-cliff shines brightest during the holiday season. For the past 17 years in their current location – and since 1989 in their former Croton-on-Hudson location – Wondrous Things has been a comfortable, easy place to shop. Their focus on selecting unique and time-appropriate items for their collections make gift-giving fun and effortless.

In that spirit of finding this year’s holiday must-haves, Wondrous Things partnered with new scarf start-up Laetly to be the exclusive Westchester retailer of their all-natural, unisex scarves. Laetly produces scarves spun from 100% Extra Fine Merino Wool, with bold and colorful designs. They chose Merino Wool because of its luxe-level softness and breathability.

With sustainability in mind, their yarn is spun at a century-old Italian mill that uses the bluesign® certified system, which means they marry old world craftsmanship with the highest level of sustainable production. While their yarn is sourced from Italy, they were committed to having their scarves made in America and worked with two of the best knitwear facilities in the United States.

Laetly co-founders – Joe Losardo, Vanessa Bailey and Michael Castellano – also have a connection to Westchester County. All three are long-time media professionals who met while working at Reader’s Digest.

“We know that winter can be bleak and we see scarves as the exclamation point to your winter outfit,” said Losardo. “They are the last thing you put on and the first thing people see. Our scarves are the fun accessory to put a smile on someone’s face this holiday season.”

“We’re always on the look-out for new, up-and-coming brands and unique gift ideas, especially from businesses with a local connection,” said Wondrous Things co-owner Jane Borho Valentine. “When we met Joe and saw and felt the beautiful Laetly scarves, we knew they would make perfect holiday gifts. We’ve always felt that our job is to do the shopping for our customers and being the only store in Westchester with these scarves is a great example of finding the right gift you just can’t find anywhere else.”

It’s no wonder that these two brands partnered this holiday season to make gift- giving extra “wondrous” for Westchester residents. Priced from $68-$88, you’ll find Laetly scarves at Wondrous Things (they are also available at laetly.com). These super soft scarves are a perfect addition to the apparel, jewelry, handbags, gourmet and home items found at Wondrous Things (1159 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor).
