Dimitri Achkar grew up around his father and uncles, all of whom built cabinets, tables and chairs among other works of custom carpentry. Dimtiri learned at an early age to do everything from framing to finish work, and actually fabricated moldings in addition to crafting hardwood floors. He cannot remember a family member who was not a craftsman in his home country of Lebanon. In 2006 he came to the United States, and soon after his father did too. Both men continued their work with a personalized statement that simply says, “If it has to do with wood we can do it.”
In addition to fine carpentry, Dimitri designs and builds bathrooms complete with custom subway tiles and fixtures. His work has appeared in design magazines and his list of clients ranges from New York City to New Canaan, Connecticut.
Dimitri Achkar is a genuinely caring craftsman, and this carries over to the people who hire him. He has a polite manner and an attention to detail not commonly found. At present his business is evenly split between woodwork and custom tiling. He is a licensed and insured contractor more than willing to show potential clients his past work and current projects.
With winter approaching and remodeling work turning indoors, he can be reached at (914) 400-6690. Or visit the Company’s website: amacustomtile.com.
