In November 2008, on Third Friday, we opened our doors. It has been 2 great years! The most asked question has been, “How do you get your inventory?” Here is the answer: Some of it comes from vendors, like Lego and Melissa & Doug. With that inventory I try to give a discount of 10-20% from the retail prices. For the other part of the business, my sons and I go out to tag sales and church sales to find toys that have never been opened. With these “used but never opened” toys I am able to sell them at 25% to 50% off retail. A brand new toy at ½ the price of a normal store’s retail prices. I also buy used toys – truly used. We call them pre-loved; they are always inspected and checked for recalls. They must be in excellent condition for me to buy them for the store.
