It’s Getting Cold. Let’s Golf!

Seven beautifully designed golf bays feature state-of-the-art simulators.

There’s a nice crisp feeling in the air. The kind of weather that makes most people think about picking apples, visiting a farmer’s market or checking the fall foliage map to find the perfect spot to see the brightest colors of the season. But for those folks who are more interested in birdies, eagles and the dreaded double-bogey, the fall means checking the weather forecast to see if there is one more chance to hit the links.

If you live in this part of the world, the golf season tends to be too short. But over the past few years, a number of indoor golf simulators have opened their doors and allowed local golfers the opportunity to play some of the best courses in the world from the comfort of an air conditioned space. Often with a full bar and restaurant within a long putt of their tee.

The newest local entry to offer golfers year-round satisfaction (or frustration depending on the day!) is the 19th Hole Indoor Golf Bar & Restaurant in Ossining. Unlike some of the other indoor golf facilities in the area, the 19th Hole offers a luxury environment in a space as big as a long par three. River Journal caught up with owner Anthony Cartalemi to find out what their “club” is bringing to the table.

River Journal: When did you start your business and why?

The 19th Hole offers a country club feel.

Anthony Cartalemi: I started the corporation in April 2023. We started making the plans and looking for a location. We signed the lease for the former Marshalls store in the Arcadian Shopping Center in Ossining at the end of December 2023, and started construction in January 2024. The location was an empty canvas so lots of hard work and time were invested. I have a passion for golf and after visiting many places decided this was the spot I wanted to spend my time doing something I loved.

RJ: What made you choose this location?

AC: I feel this location is a high-traffic area and centrally located so it is convenient for people from all over the River Towns and beyond to visit very easily.

RJ: What does the 19th Hole offer?

AC: We have seven beautifully designed golf bays with state-of-the-art Trackman simulators which are perfect for golfers of all skill levels. We provide an opportunity for our guests to enjoy the versatility of being out on the course or even enjoying a game of mini-golf. We also have a beautiful bar where you can enjoy cocktails, beer, wine and delicious bites. And there are big screen TVs throughout the lounge so you can watch the pros do their thing after your round.

RJ: You recently hosted a Gullotta House fundraiser. How did that go?

AC: It was a great event and a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community. We are interested in being able to contribute to the local community and the organizations that help those in need.

RJ: How would you describe your company’s progress so far?

AC: I believe we are making great progress. A new business has bumps in the road and lots of learning.  We are doing great I think. I have other plans flying around in my head for my next adventure, but right now I need to concentrate on making this dream as successful as I can.

The 19th Hole is open every day from 9:00am to midnight. Gift certificates are available, and leagues will be coming soon.
