Working Families Party Endorses Progress 4 Peekskill Candidates

The Westchester/Putnam Chapter of the Working Families Party has announced their endorsement for the Progress 4 Peekskill slate of candidates for Mayor and Council of Peekskill.

Progress 4 Peekskill released a statement which in part said, “We are proud to have secured the coveted backing of the Working Families Party, a group devoted to social equity and electing progressive Democratic candidates. The Working Families Party has been key to the fight for social, racial, and economic justice. In New York State, the WFP was critical in winning a $15 minimum wage, paid sick days, landmark climate change laws, tenant protections, a fracking ban, and the state’s first millionaire’s tax. We’re thrilled to have their support for our platform of housing justice, equitable growth, environmental justice, and open government in this June’s primary for Mayor and Council and in November.”

“The Westchester/Putnam Chapter of the Working Families Party is enormously excited about having the entire Progress for Peekskill slate on the ticket,” said David Schwartz, Vice Chair of the Working Families Party Westchester/Putnam Chapter. “They are absolutely in tune with our most important values and we look forward to working with them on their campaign and beyond.”
