Meet Sumi!
Sumi is a 7-year-old female Maine Coon. Maine coons are called “the gentle giants” of the cat world because they are mild-mannered, friendly, and very lovable. She joined our family as a tiny kitten but now weighs around 20 pounds. Sumi always chirps and answers me every time I talk to her, which I love.
I’m an artist, and one of the mediums I use is Sumi ink, which is a fluid black ink I use to draw with. As you can see, Sumi has a black spot on the left side of her nose, which looks like I spilled a drop of ink there, hence her name. Sumi loves camping out in my art studio, sleeping on my drawing table, and stealing my chair whenever I get up. She is a great companion and quite a character. Her keen eyesight allows her to locate a stinkbug or tiny spider on the wall or ceiling, even in the dark! Then, she quickly catches those bugs to play with in her giant paws.
She is a wonderful sister to our other Maine Coon, Ollie, who is an orange and white tabby. Sumi is shy when visitors come over but warms up to them and is very friendly. She likes watching birds on our screened in porch and enjoys lying in the sun upside-down with her feet up, waiting for me to rub her belly.
She always makes us laugh. We love her so much!
