Ward Pound Ridge Reservation Launches 100-Mile Hike Challenge

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation will celebrate its 100th year in 2025 and, to kick things off, is launching a 100-Mile Hike Challenge in which entrants aim to hike 100 miles at the park by May 7, 2025. Registration is required and it is free to participate.

Participants of the challenge will have six months to complete it, and those who are successful will be recognized at the park’s 100-Year Anniversary Celebration at the Reservation, Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is the largest park in the Westchester County Parks system, with 4,315-acres and 35 miles of hiking trails. This 100-Mile Hike Challenge is not only a great way to celebrate the park’s centennial, but is also a great way for residents both familiar and unfamiliar with the park to explore it.”

The Reservation is picturesque year-round and participants of the challenge will have the chance to experience it in fall, winter and spring.”

Participants will be able to log their miles through the RunSignup website in order to track their progress and have six months to complete the challenge.
