School Bus Cameras to Record Scofflaws in Cortlandt

At a September event kicking off Cortlandt Community Coalition’s Back-to-School Safe Streets Campaign, Sgt. James Dress of the Westchester County Police Department (WCPD) hands a youngster a brochure filled with safety tips for walking, driving, biking, and school buses.

To further protect the safety of students, on display was one of the Hendrick Hudson district’s school buses that are newly equipped with traffic cameras to monitor the streets traveled by the buses as students embark and disembark the vehicles.

During the event, held at the Cortlandt Youth Center in Croton-on-Hudson, kids were treated to free ice cream courtesy of Carvel.
