Westchester County Legislators Jewel Williams Johnson and David Imamura on Feb 12 presented a ceremonial check to the Shames JCC in Tarrytown. The legislators co-sponsored $52,000 in funding towards Shames’ “Almost Home” after-school program, with approval from the county Board of Legislators.
Almost Home allows the JCC to provide high-quality care and enrichment for children within a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment in which they build friendships, learn new skills, receive support on their homework, and explore their interests. The program also makes it possible for working parents to have the support they need, with the peace of mind that their kids are nurtured and thriving.
