Rivertown Dance Academy in Tarrytown is celebrating a win this spring: they are among the 2025 NewYork-Presbyterian Mini-Grantees. This 3-year funding program will support new summer programming, beginning this month and continuing through the summer at the new RDA studios at 69 North Broadway (at the corner of Broadway and Dixon, in the basement level, with the entrance in the parking lot).
RDA moved into the new studio space in February after a long search for a centralized and dedicated space for dance, and just in time to celebrate their 10th season, which begins in September. The space includes 3 studios, a welcome lobby, and a student lounge area where students can gather between classes.

NewYork-Presbyterian created Mini-Grants to provide funding for small community-based organizations throughout New York City and Westchester County. The new summer programs supported by the grant include camps for ages 3 to 6 and dance intensives for ages 7 to
18. Younger students can attend morning sessions from 9 am to 11:45 am, afternoon sessions from 12:15 pm to 3 pm, or both sessions for a full-day experience. Older students attend full day intensives from 10 am to 4 pm daily. Each session lasts one week, running from July 7 through August 29, and dancers are welcome to attend as many sessions as they like.

Of course, regular classes will also continue over the summer, with weekly classes for ages 18 months through adults in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, and tap, as well as hip hop, theater jazz, and early childhood dance. Added to these are new classes in choreography, partnering, jumps and turns, yoga, and commercial dance education. The summer session of weekly classes runs from June 23 through August 31.
Financial aid is available for summer camps, summer intensives, and regular summer weekly classes. RDA offers financial aid to any student of any age with demonstrated need, with up to 100% tuition remission for students who qualify. In fact, RDA has never turned away a student for an inability to pay tuition, giving away nearly $250,000 since their founding in 2016. Students can register online for camps, intensives, or summer session at their website under Summer Schedule or Summer Camps & Intensives (financial aid applications are available under Financial Aid).
