Mr. Howard has received widespread acclaim for his work as a poet, literary critic, essayist and translator. His numerous awards include the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, the American Book Award, the Harriet Monroe Memorial prize, the Pen Translation Medal, and the Ordre National du Merite from the French Government. For many years he was the poetry editor of the Paris Review and is currently poetry editor of The Western Humanities Review. He served as Poet Laureate of the State of New York from 1993 to 1995.
High school students and adults are welcome to attend. The Festival is open to the public; admission and parking are free of charge.
