The month of December is significant to me year after year. It heralds a Holiday Season that I treasured as a child and still do. December also marks the month, 9 years ago, that I mailed a "News and Views Publication" to residents in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown for the first time.
This past year – 2006 – has been a banner year for River Journal. I want to thank our advertisers, writers, and staff for their collective efforts, input and professionalism. In June, we expanded our mailing and welcomed Irvington. The response from the Village has been upbeat and positive. It is fitting that this year-end issue includes relevant information about our three historic river town communities – Irvington’s upcoming and important School Bond vote, Tarrytown’s "Project of the Year" and Sleepy Hollow’s renaming anniversary along with its accomplishments Village-wide.
We wish a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and Joyous Season to all.
Our New Year’s resolution remains the same. We will keep our pencils sharpened.
