Irvington Resident to Raise Funds for Children

Sandy Randell, an Irvington resident for 18 years, has been named Director of Development and Community Relations for Abbott House, the multi-faceted social service agency headquartered in Irvington that serves more than 1,200 individuals and their families in New York City and seven Hudson Valley counties.

imagesMeyers hired Randell to oversee all fund-raising activities, including events, individual and corporate contributions, grants and endowment building for the 44-year-old nonprofit Abbott House. In addition, Randell is directing communication, marketing and brand-building for the agency, whose mission is to provide comprehensive, compassionate and caring services for abused, neglected and abandoned children and their families as well as permanent homes for developmentally disabled men and women.

Randell brings to Abbott House nearly three decades of experience in the development and communications arena. She was previously Director of Development for Friends of Saint Dominic’s, the affiliated fund-raising arm of Saint Dominic’s Home. "I could not pass up the opportunity to do what I love on behalf of children in need and the developmentally disabled right in my hometown," Randell said.
