SUMMARY:Returning to the Land: Gallery tour and poetry reading
DESCRIPTION:Participants in the March 2026 Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop will read their original poems alongside the landscape paintings from Shen Wei: Still/Moving that inspired their writing. \nThis gallery tour and poetry reading differs from a traditional seated reading; it will invite gentle movement\, collective attention\, and deep listening. Poems will be heard where they were written—in the presence of the paintings—creating a layered exchange between stillness and sound\, brush and breath\, art and language.  \nThis reading offers audiences a unique way to experience poetry and visual art. It will require periods of standing in the gallery; limited seating will be available. \nThis event will be followed by a reception in the DR Center Gallery\, now showing Shen Wei: Still/Moving.  \nAll sales final; no refunds.

DESCRIPTION:Ballet Hispánico New York presents excerpts from MUJERES: Women in Motion\, its 2026 season led by three consequential choreographic voices. \nThis landmark program will feature world premieres by Cassi Abranches and Marianela Boán\, artists whose work has shaped the evolution of contemporary dance across the Americas and internationally. Abranches brings a new creation driven by rhythmic intelligence and physical force. Boán offers a re-envisioning of Antigone that demonstrates her foundational role in Cuban and Latin American avant-garde dance. Plus\, Stephanie Martinez presents an excerpt from Otra Vez\, Otra Vez\, Otra Vez\, contributing a contemporary American perspective to the evening.  \nTogether\, these three works mark the start of Ballet Hispánico’s second season showcasing an all-female choreographic lineup. \nPresented in partnership with the RBF Culpeper Arts & Culture program.
