In May of 2007, The Clothes Doctor opened its fourth store in the Westchester area, adding Tarrytown to their Scarsdale, Bronxville, and Tuckahoe outlets.
It is located, as their advertising says, "directly across from the DPW building,"down near the railroad station and the "H" bridge.
Their ad further points out that the system used in the cleaning process is a non-toxic cleaner called "GreenEarth" which has been encouraged as a cleaning system by NY State for the last l0 years. It is a pure silicone cleaner, in effect-liquefied sand, as opposed to the chemical system that has been used by cleaners for many years. The stores are owned by John Shin who came to the U.S. thirty years ago from S. Korea after a career there as a shipbuilding engineer. John lives in Tuckahoe, N.Y.
