Lucy Ferrarin is a soft spoken and gracious person who has owned and operated Hair Connection in Sleepy Hollow for the past 22 years. She has surrounded herself with stylists who are friendly, professional and dedicated to the clients that return month after month and year after year to the full service salon.
Located at 78 Beekman Avenue, the Hair Connection offers a wide variety of services including tanning beds by Montego Bay.

“We have a twelve minute bed and a twenty minute bed as well, said Ms. Ferrarin. The twelve minute bed promotes a faster tan and after basic introductory sessions on both beds, clients usually return once a week to retain their “I’ve just come back from the islands” glow.
Turning to men’s haircut and hair styling for women, the Hair Connection offers pricing that is all but unheard of in most salons. For a men’s cut and blow dry, $13 will ring up at the register. Women receive a cut and blow dry for $35, while prices for children up to twelve years old are $12 for boys and $13 for girls.
In addition to Lucy, three licensed hairdressers who are bi-lingual attend to the needs of their clients. Doris has been the store manager for the past 13 years. Lorena has been at the Hair Connection for 5 years and even the relative newcomer Angelique has worked there for 3 years. “All of the women are very friendly with none of the attitude that I’ve seen in other salons over the years,” Lucy said.
Business at the Hair Connection is equally divided between men and women clients. “We cut the hair of adults whose parents brought them in as children,” she said. “We find that many young women like the highlighting that we do while other women prefer Japanese straightening,” she added. In addition to hair cutting, styling, highlights, and perms, Hair Connection offers ear piercing and eyelash extensions.
