On Monday, April 6, at noon Sleepy Hollow’s Mayor Philip Zegarelli retired from 23 years of community service to the Village he was born and raised in.
Former Mayor Philip Zegarelli
He had been a Village Trustee for 5 years, the Mayor for 8 during his first term, and most recently Sleepy Hollow’s Mayor for the past 10 years. After swearing in the Village’s new mayor and presenting him with a personalized gavel, Philip Zegarelli walked out of Village Hall.
Known for his keen business sense and ability to accomplish things, we interviewed him during a driving rain storm at the General Motors site. More than any other issue General Motors and its near-100-acre Lighthouse Landing development proposal defined Mr. Zegarelli over the last 10 years.
The entire interview is part of a new feature. Reel Time takes people and issues off of the printed page and puts them in front of the camera.
