Kathy Semke, a sought-after hairstylist, is putting down roots in Irvington and opening an Eco-Salon. “You don’t have to trade beauty for health” says Semke, a 29-year veteran of the beauty trade.
Semke, who formerly owned "Good Karma" in Tarrytown, has enjoyed serving clients in their homes with “Hair I Go,” but feels like she found the perfect place in Irvington. “I have so many clients in these river towns, and Main Street in Irvington is gorgeous,” says Kathy. The green salon features everything from environmentally friendly hair color to low VOC paint on the walls. “It’s a clean air salon, which means no chemical perms or relaxers, and I’ll offer the finest organic skin care with lines like Dr. Hauschka. My clients will have an opportunity to stay with the color they love or try one of my new eco-colors; it’s all about choice!” The salon, named "Katherine Winters" after Semke’s grandmother, is located at 132 Main Street, Irvington (just off Broadway).
