It’s 10pm Do You Know Where Your Kids Are? Playing Soccer!

On Saturday January 26, from 9pm through 2am, 80 kids took part in what AYSO Tarrytown hopes will become an annual tradition: Soccer-Thon.

At OnTrack Sport Center near the Tarrytown train station, jubilant kids and soccer fans were treated to a 5-hour marathon of 15 games.

OnTrack donated the time and AYSO players from ages 10 to 18 donated the chutzpa to benefit Tarrytown’s three teams that will be playing in the AYSO National Games. Soccer-Thon was a huge success and even featured an "old timers" game between the coaches at midnight.

Three Tarrytown teams are slated to go to the National Games in Hawaii from July 7-14. Donations are ongoing to help sponsor a U-16 Boys’ team, a U-16 Girls’ team and a U-12 Boys’ team that have been invited to compete. The games are a biennial event, gathering over 160 teams from all over the country.

“We’re thrilled for this honor for our Villages to be represented," says AYSO Commissioner, Hossein Fassa. "We are so grateful to all of the local businesses and families that have supported this exciting opportunity for our kids. We’re still a long way away from our needed goal, so please keep those cards and letters coming! We offer the most popular pastime for kids in our towns – 700 kids play in AYSO programs in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow."

AYSO is a 501C3 nonprofit organization, so all donations are tax deductible. For more information or to make a donation please contact Hossein Fassa at rc@aysotarrytown.com or mail to AYSO, 28 Spring St., Tarrytown NY 10591.
