Closet Creations, Inc. Comes to Sleepy Hollow

After sixteen years operating out of Dobbs Ferry, Closet Creations has moved its main office to 147 Valley Street in Sleepy Hollow. Rather than buying units from an outside supplier located in Pennsylvania, they have simultaneously purchased a new 8,500 square foot site in Yonkers where all closet manufacturing and production will now take place.

Currently, the split in business is 35 percent area builders and contractors and 65 percent residential construction.

The business is owned by Chris Giampaolo who graduated from St. Michael’s in the Bronx in 1982 and the engineering school at Manhattan College in 1986. Chris got the original idea for the business in 1991while re-doing the closets of a co-op that he owned. He estimates that his business is expanding at the rate of 15-20 percent a year and he now has three trucks on the road with eleven employees to handle the growing number of jobs that must be serviced each week. Chris plans to convert the Valley Street location to a design area and showroom with four employees with the other seven employees at the manufacturing facility in Yonkers.

Chris points out in his advertising that his designs for closets, pantries, home offices, and garages are personalized, i.e. done on a computer to the individual specifications of the client rather than a franchised look now being done by many other competitive closet manufacturers.

Chris is married and he and his wife, Loretta, have three sons. Loretta, who has also been in business in Irvington for the past 15 years, owns Loretta’s Mane Station across from the Irvington Train Station. The phone number for Closet Creations is (914) 693-1272 and for Mane Station (914) 591-5212.
