Dear Editor,
Do the Village of Sleepy Hollow’s police officers deserve to be some of the lowest paid officers in Westchester County? Everyday our police officers keep our streets safe.
As a Sleepy Hollow resident, whom would you call if you sensed that danger or vandalism had occurred on your property, or if you were in a car accident or a family member was in trouble, or for that matter, in any type of emergency? The Sleepy Hollow Police officers work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to keep us safe.
As Sleepy Hollow property owners we assume our very high residential taxes are being used to take care of the village. The Village of Sleepy Hollow has great plans for the future but we need to make sure we take care of the present. Our police officers provide us with the community’s foundation for us to build towards the future. As a resident, I support our village officers and their effort to achieve salary parity with the rest of Westchester County’s police departments.
