DESCRIPTION:As America marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence\, what are the stories that we have told over generations? What stories do we still have left to tell–in large and small communities across this country? Who gets to tell and write those stories\, and ensure they do not disappear? On June 18\, join the Hudson Valley Writers Center\, in-person or via livestream\, for an epic celebration of language\, community\, and the power of narrative. Whether you come for five minutes\, or for 250\, we will be reading poetry and prose\, playing music\, excavating old stories and championing new voices. Together\, let’s create The Word at 250.  \nDetails\nJune 18\, 2026\, 5:00pm-9:10 pm\nCome and go as you like (We’ll have a short break every hour)\nAttend in-person at the Hudson Valley Writers Center OR join us for a livestream (a link will be sent on June 17 to all who register) \nTo Register:\nAdmission is pay-what-you-wish\, and all are welcome! \nWe appreciate contributions with your ticket\, or sponsor the event by becoming a Champion of the Word at 250: \nBe a Champion of The Word at 250  \nIn this time when many stories are being silenced\, supporting independent literary organizations is an act of conviction. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our warm and welcoming Open Write Nights\, recurring monthly on the Second Saturday of each month. \nThis group will take place in HYBRID FORM\, meaning that there will participants in person at HVWC as well as joining on the big screen via Zoom. \nYour hosts Cassie Cartaginese and Cassie Valencia will facilitate an evening of generative writing\, story swapping and community building. \nOpen Write is $10 or FREE to members.
