DESCRIPTION:The Bean Runner Café and Cross Cultural Connection collaborate to bring top jazz artists to “Ray Blue Way\,” an outdoor performance space at Esther Street and 201 S. Division Street\, in the heart of downtown Peekskill. Five Saturdays this summer… all concerts are from 6-8PM. \nSaturday\, June 27: T.K. Blue presents “Planet Bluu.” Acclaimed by Downbeat Magazine\, saxophonist and flutist T.K. Blue has performed at jazz festivals in Senegal\, Morrocco\, Jersey City\, and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC\, to name a few. \nSaturday July 18: Bobby Sanabria Latin Jazz. \nSaturday July 25: Sharp Radway Quartet. \nSaturday August 8: Winard Harper and the Jeli Posse. \nSaturday August 15: Ray Blue Birthday Show — Jeff Barone and the Ray Blue Band. \nAll showtimes are 6-8pm and the location will be outside at “Ray Blue Way” unless weather or the artists require the shows to be inside at The Bean Runner Café. In desperation\, she calls on the saints for help\, including her idol\, the beloved singer and actor Pedro Infante. To her surprise\, Don Pedro appears before her\, on the very day her granddaughter is facing a heartbreak brought on by her boyfriend’s deportation. Who will help whom? The play offers a new interpretation of what it means to live “on the other side.” \nA one-act adaptation that examines the immigration crisis from both a personal and spiritual angle\, and part of the trilogy Entre Dos Mundos\, a celebration of Latin American culture and the resilience of the human spirit. \nPedro Infante: Cien Años Pienso en Ti \nUna obra de Toby Campion\nDirección de Germán Jaramillo \nDoña Pancha\, una abuela mexicana que vive con su familia en los Estados Unidos\, extraña su tierra natal con tanta añoranza que ha intentado escaparse de casa para regresar a México. Desesperadamente\, pide ayuda a los santos\, incluyendo a su ídolo Pedro Infante. Para su sorpresa\, Don Pedro se presenta ante ella\, justo el día en que la nieta de Doña Pancha enfrenta una crisis de amor provocada por la deportación de su novio. ¿Quién ayudará a quién? La obra da una nueva interpretación a la frase “vivir al otro lado.” \nUna adaptación en un solo acto que examina la crisis migratoria desde lo personal y lo espiritual\, parte de la trilogía Entre Dos Mundos\, una celebración de la cultura latinoamericana y la fuerza del espíritu humano.
