SUMMARY:Ghost Light: A Haunted Evening of Music\, Movement\, Poetry & Film
DESCRIPTION:Enter the Irvington Theater after dark… if you dare. \nThis Halloween\, the theater comes alive with Ghost Light\, a one-night-only\, theatrical experience where music\, poetry\, theater\, film\, opera\, and dance unfold throughout the space\, creating a haunting tapestry of live performance. \nThis multidisciplinary evening features a constellation of local artists including Rivers Edge Theater Company\, Hudson Valley Arts Collective\, soprano Ruby Nightingale in collaboration with dancers Erica Moshman and Sydney Rosenberg\, spellbinding short films\, and irresistible jazz tunes from The Candace Lynn Quintet featuring Candace Lynn Matthews\, Sammy Wags\, Chris Conte\, Will Rich\, and Andrew Klein. SUMMARY:Kids Short Story Connection Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Creative Writing Thrives in Greenburgh! \nDoes your child love to read and write stories? Or do you know a child who does? September 19th is the kickoff date for the fall 2026 session of Saturday morning Kids Short Story Connection workshops. Thirty-three years ago\, the very first KSSC workshop was held in the Greenburgh Library with 10 kids between 9 and 12 years old. Today\, the Kids Short Story Connection meets at Greenburgh Town Hall (as well as over the Zoom platform). Young writers are assigned to workshops according to age and writing levels. This separation ensures that young writers meet in our round-table sessions with their creative-writing peers. All workshops are led by published authors/teachers. Each workshop has no more than 10 participants. This ensure that there is enough time for writing and sharing of work written during the workshop sessions. The two in-person workshops for kids between 9 and 14 meet at Greenburgh Town Hall on Saturday mornings from 10 am until 12 noon. The Advanced workshop for advanced writers 14 and over meets over the Zoom platform at the same time.

SUMMARY:El Hombrecito y los Tres Monstruos
DESCRIPTION:This interactive presentation encourages families of all ages to engage in live audience participation with Colombian instruments and the shadow-theater-style puppets. \nInspired by a Pre-Columbian myth with relevance to our current times; Little Man / El Hombrecito is a short film created and directed by Marion Schoevaert (Art Director/Director)\, who brings an extensive background in youth programming\, having designed and directed 33 concert-illustrations and shadow-play performances for the New York Philharmonic at Merkin Hall and David Geffen Hall (Avery Fisher Hall). \nThe film features minimal narration in both English and Spanish\, allowing the storytelling to be driven by a rich score\, composed by Pablo Mayor and performed by his Folklore Urbano Orchestra\, the music showcases the full instrumental range of Colombian tradition.
