DESCRIPTION:Ensemble Connect and Biribá Union invite audiences to the rehearsal room for a real-time look at artistic collaboration. During a residency at The Pocantico Center\, made possible by The Rockefeller Foundation\, Ensemble Connect fellows will collaborate with Biribá Union to explore a new musical style and develop a concept for their Ensemble Connect Up Close performance at Carnegie Hall in May 2027. \nThis performance offers a rare glimpse into the creative conversations\, experimentation\, and musical exchange that drive collaborative performance. Drawing on Brazilian\, jazz\, folk\, and hip-hop musical traditions\, Biribá Union’s genre-defying approach provides an inspiring creative partner for Ensemble Connect’s extraordinary young musicians. \nEleven Ensemble Connect fellows will be joined by Biribá Union’s cellist and vocalist Mike Block\, beatboxer and guitarist Christylez Bacon\, and electric bassist and vocalist Patricia Ligia. A discussion and audience Q&A with the musicians of Ensemble Connect and Biribá Union will follow the performance. \nThis work-in-process showing will be presented during Ensemble Connect’s residency at The Pocantico Center and is part of a larger show being developed for Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing on May 5.  \nThis event will be followed by a reception in the DR Center Gallery\, now showing Woven Wonders: Kykuit’s Picasso Tapestries. \nPresented in partnership with the RBF Culpeper Arts & Culture program and Carnegie Hall. \nAll sales final; no refunds.

SUMMARY:Kids Short Story Connection Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Creative Writing Thrives in Greenburgh! \nDoes your child love to read and write stories? Or do you know a child who does? September 19th is the kickoff date for the fall 2026 session of Saturday morning Kids Short Story Connection workshops. Thirty-three years ago\, the very first KSSC workshop was held in the Greenburgh Library with 10 kids between 9 and 12 years old. Today\, the Kids Short Story Connection meets at Greenburgh Town Hall (as well as over the Zoom platform). Young writers are assigned to workshops according to age and writing levels. This separation ensures that young writers meet in our round-table sessions with their creative-writing peers. All workshops are led by published authors/teachers. Each workshop has no more than 10 participants. This ensure that there is enough time for writing and sharing of work written during the workshop sessions. The two in-person workshops for kids between 9 and 14 meet at Greenburgh Town Hall on Saturday mornings from 10 am until 12 noon. The Advanced workshop for advanced writers 14 and over meets over the Zoom platform at the same time.

Today\, the Kids Short Story Connection meets at Greenburgh Town Hall (as well as over the Zoom platform). Young writers are assigned to workshops according to age and writing levels. This separation ensures that young writers meet in our round-table sessions with their creative-writing peers. All workshops are led by published authors/teachers. Each workshop has no more than 10 participants. This ensure that there is enough time for writing and sharing of work written during the workshop sessions. The two in-person workshops for kids between 9 and 14 meet at Greenburgh Town Hall on Saturday mornings from 10 am until 12 noon. The Advanced workshop for advanced writers 14 and over meets over the Zoom platform at the same time.

DESCRIPTION:The Horszowski Trio has quickly become a vital force in the international chamber music world since their formation in 2011.
