SUMMARY:First Saturdays at the Museum: D-Day! Return to the Beaches!
DESCRIPTION:Bite-the-Bullet!\nRevolutionary War Medicine \nSaturday\, June 20\, 2026 at 2:00 pm \nwith Matthew Weigman\nWashington’s Headquarters State Historic Site \nIt’s the late 1770s\, and you’ve been in the Continental Army for two years. You’ve only faced the British on a few occasions – and it didn’t go well. But you walked away unscathed…for now. It’s brutally cold and you’ve got 20 miles more to march through the snow before reaching camp; your feet are wrapped only in thin linen\, and they’re starting to turn blue\, in some spots ashen gray. What could THAT mean? It can’t be good… \nSo many things can bring about your untimely demise. A bullet wound to the abdomen\, means a likely death. A simple infection? Death. The Flu\, measles\, small pox…death. Each letter home might be your last.\nWhat was it like to face such conditions? What was it like for the medical professionals who cared for soldiers facing those terrible conditions?\nJoin us at the Lincoln Depot Museum as we welcome Matthew Weigman from the nearby Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh\, NY\, as he presents a candid look at Revolutionary War medicine. \nFor more information\, contact: LincolnDepotFDN@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Singing For Strength: A Community Sing-Along
DESCRIPTION:The Music Committee from Briarcliff Congregational Church is pleased to sponsor a community sing-along on Saturday\, June 20th\, at 4:00 PM at Beebe Hall. This event will be led by guest artist Danica A. Buckley from Minnesota and it promises to bring our local community together to inspire strength\, unity\, and peace\, through singing. We are excited to bring this event to our community and hope that we can connect in song with titles such as “Ain’t gonna let nobody turn me ‘round”\, “Be the Change”\, “We choose love”\, to name a few. Join us for an hour of great fun as we experience through our voices the sound of a better tomorrow.

SUMMARY:Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration: Welcoming of the Fish
DESCRIPTION:It’s free\, family-friendly\, and delightfully fishy! Celebrate the epic journeys of Hudson River fishes with a puppet performance by inspired artist Rhiannon Catalyst with puppets from Big Nazo\, a spoken dedication from a member of the Ramapo Munsee Nation\, a public-participatory Parade of the Fish\, a spectacular water spouting display from retired FDNY fireboat John J. Harvey\, and a call to action from Riverkeeper President Tracy Brown. We’ll cheer the arrival of a flotilla led by a larger-than-life sturgeon-themed Schooner Apollonia\, designed by renowned artist Greg Corbino — spreading joy\, raising awareness\, and turning the waterway into a floating work of art.
