SUMMARY:Eureka Day
DESCRIPTION:The Eureka Day School in Berkeley\, California\, is a bastion of progressive ideals: representation\, acceptance\, social justice. In weekly meetings Eureka Day’s five board members develop and update policy to preserve this culture of inclusivity\, reaching decisions only by consensus. But when a mumps outbreak threatens the Eureka community\, facts become subjective and every solution divisive\, leaving the school’s leadership to confront the central question of our time: How do you build consensus when no one can agree on truth?

SUMMARY:MARRIED BY THE MOB
DESCRIPTION:Step inside the unforgettable world of the Mob\, where nostalgia\, glamour\, food\, and family collide.\nThis is not a show. It is an event.\n\nMarried by the Mob is a fully immersive wedding experience where dancing and drama unfold all around you. From the moment guests arrive\, they are welcomed as family into a world where tradition runs deep\, tempers flare\, and loyalty is everything.\n\nWhat begins as a lavish ceremony quickly spirals into chaos as old grudges resurface\, secrets surface\, and everyone in the room realizes this wedding has been unraveling long before they arrived. The family knows it.\nThe bride feels it. And the truth has a way of finding the dance floor.\n\nAs the night unfolds\, tension builds\, alliances shift\, and guests find themselves pulled into the orbit of a volatile family dynamic where everyone has an opinion and no one stays neutral for long.\n\nThe evening crescendos into a no-holds-barred reception filled with explosive confrontations\, unexpected turns\, and a finale that reaches its breaking point with a cake fight\, a bouquet toss\, and a shower of confetti\, before the DJ takes over and turns the night into a wild\, full-throttle celebration.\n\nMarried by the Mob is a one-night-only experience where the drama is real\, the emotions are raw\,\nand the truth always comes out.

SUMMARY:Seven Generations of Hope Film Screening\, Panel Discussion\, and Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a screening of Seven Generations of Hope\, followed by a panel discussion and reception. \nWhen Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican youth return to their ancestral homeland\, an unexpected partnership with Catholic sisters transforms both groups—proving that healing intergenerational trauma begins with choosing hope over history. Together\, they find common ground in the seven generations principle: the idea that decisions made today should allow seven generations in the future to thrive. \n70 years after forced removal from their ancestral homeland\, nine members of the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican Nation return to New York’s Hudson Valley. Welcomed by the Dominican Sisters of Hope at the Center at Mariandale\, they discover an unexpected partnership with the very institution that historically sought to erase Indigenous culture through the federal boarding school system. The sisters\, who have embraced Indigenous wisdom and eco-spirituality\, demonstrate that institutional healing is possible when people choose to listen rather than impose. The youth reconnect with their language\, their ancestors\, and a land that still remembers their voices. Inspired by the sisters’ commitment to Earth stewardship and future generations\, the youth return home energized to plant seeds—in gardens\, in language revival\, in their communities. They walk forward with their ancestors behind them and their descendants in mind\, embodying the Indigenous principle of seven generations thinking. \nThe film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring representatives from the Westchester Land Trust\, the New York Community Trust\, the Dominican Sisters of Hope\, Joe Plante (filmmaker)\, and Tribal Members of the Stockbridge Munsee Band of Mohicans. \nDirected and Produced by Joe Plante New Media Storytellers

SUMMARY:America: Songs of Patriotism\, Praise\, and Protest: A Cello Show with Alex Prizgintas
DESCRIPTION:America’s democracy is based upon the freedoms of speech and religion as part of its cornerstone. This program presents songs of Patriotism\, Praise\, and Protest as part of the vital fabric that weaves our differences into our distinct strength. Key hymns\, noble anthems of patriotism\, and tunes of solidarity as well as resistance make this a worthy program celebrating our union. This unique sound\, provided by Alex Prizgintas and his amplified cello\, will be shown on Saturday\, August 15th at 2:30 PM. Classically trained\, he employs non-classical tools like distortion\, delay\, and the iconic “wah-wah” guitar pedals symbolic of 1960s Rock n’ Roll bands–all in conjunction with a looping station. Equally comfortable with intimate and stadium settings\, Alex can craft his own wall-of-sound through his 1\,000-watt amp. Accompanied by a narration that reveals some of the back stories of baroque\, jazz\, folk\, and Rock n’ Roll classics\, he immerses his audience in a journey through musical history. \nThose familiar with Alex’s work on the cello might be surprised to learn that he graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in regional history from Marist College and a graduate degree in public administration from Marist in addition to serving as president of the Woodbury Historical Society and town historian of Woodbury in Orange County\, NY. “I tend to have two audiences: those who know me as a cellist and those who know me through my lectures on topics of regional history. My bifurcated interests certainly keep me busy developing new stories to share about our Hudson River Valley as well as expanding my concert programs that strive to keep audiences engaged\, enlightened\, and hopefully entertained.” To learn more and see other video samples of his music and lectures\, please visit alexprizgintas.com.
