DESCRIPTION:This interactive presentation encourages families of all ages to engage in live audience participation with Colombian instruments and the shadow-theater-style puppets. \nInspired by a Pre-Columbian myth with relevance to our current times; Little Man / El Hombrecito is a short film created and directed by Marion Schoevaert (Art Director/Director)\, who brings an extensive background in youth programming\, having designed and directed 33 concert-illustrations and shadow-play performances for the New York Philharmonic at Merkin Hall and David Geffen Hall (Avery Fisher Hall). \nThe film features minimal narration in both English and Spanish\, allowing the storytelling to be driven by a rich score\, composed by Pablo Mayor and performed by his Folklore Urbano Orchestra\, the music showcases the full instrumental range of Colombian tradition.
