DESCRIPTION:The Bean Runner Café and Cross Cultural Connection collaborate to bring top jazz artists to “Ray Blue Way\,” an outdoor performance space at Esther Street and 201 S. Division Street\, in the heart of downtown Peekskill. Five Saturdays this summer… all concerts are from 6-8PM. \nSaturday\, June 27: T.K. Blue presents “Planet Bluu.” Acclaimed by Downbeat Magazine\, saxophonist and flutist T.K. Blue has performed at jazz festivals in Senegal\, Morrocco\, Jersey City\, and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC\, to name a few. \nSaturday July 18: Bobby Sanabria Latin Jazz. \nSaturday July 25: Sharp Radway Quartet. \nSaturday August 8: Winard Harper and the Jeli Posse. \nSaturday August 15: Ray Blue Birthday Show — Jeff Barone and the Ray Blue Band. \nAll showtimes are 6-8pm and the location will be outside at “Ray Blue Way” unless weather or the artists require the shows to be inside at The Bean Runner Café. Modeled after Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe\, the showcase is a rare opportunity to hear not only great songs but the stories behind the music. \nThe July 25 event will feature celebrated artists … \nPaul Jensen:\nRye resident and singer-songwriter Paul Jensen is creator and host of the Sound Shore Songwriter Series and has headlined stages from the Cutting Room to CityWinery. Paul’s music takes us on a storytelling journey—combining clever lyrics\, infectious melodies and a touch of humor—encouraging us reflect on current themes and our own experiences. \nJanie Barnett:\nNYC-based Janie Barnett began as a leading session singer for film and television\, backing artists such as Linda Ronstadt\, Rickie Lee Jones and Bonnie Raitt before blossoming into a captivating singer-songwriter. Known for her 2016 release “You See This River\, Janie has also released alt-jazz Americana interpretations of Cole Porter classics. \nErik Rabasca:\nCT-based singer-songwriter and founder of Highest Frequency Records\, Eric Rabasca has performed as a soloist and with Light Warriors and The Connecticut Hope Collective. He’s opened for leading artists such as Jon Batiste\, SOJA and Easy Star All Stars\, and his forthcoming album “New Scrolls” draws on the lyrical spirit of Dylan\, Marley & John Prine.
