DESCRIPTION:ANW (Artists of Northern Westchester) 55th Art Exhibit. Sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley\, the 55th ANW (Artists of Northern Westchester) Exhibit is the longest-running juried art exhibit in Westchester County. The ANW Exhibit was instituted by the late\, nationally acclaimed Hudson River painter\, George Kelly. \nThe Exhibit runs from April 12 through May 9 with an Opening Reception on Sunday\, April 12 \, 2-4 pm and a Closing Reception on Saturday\, May 9\, 4- 5pm. The Gallery will be open to the public on the following Sundays: 4/19\,  4/26 and May 3 from 11:30- 12:30 PM. \nSponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley\, this is the longest-running juried art exhibit in Westchester County. Offbeat Documentary Screens at Rivertown Film \nApril 2026–A real slice of downtown New York history\, the time capsule of a documentary\n“Fugs Film! “will bring viewers back to the Lower East Side circa 1964 when Rivertown Film\npresents it at the Nyack Center (South Broadway at Depew Ave.\, entrance on South Broadway).\nOn Wednesday\, April 22 nd .\nThe Fugs were poet musicians who nurtured their time. They used musical satire to explore\nboundaries of free speech and to bait “the Establishment”. Their influence can be seen on other\nmusical groups from The Mothers of Invention to Country Joe and the Fish. Founded by Ed\nSaunders\, a well-known ‘60’s counter-culture figure and the proprietor of Peace Eye Bookstore\nin the East Village\, poet Tuli Kupferberg and drummer Ken Weaver\, the Fugs blended a folk\nphilosophy with rock and roll and sound collage. They tapped into a wildly specific time and\nplace that resonates today. Be warned: they were called “the filthiest and most vulgar thing a\nhuman mind could possibly conceive” by a music executive in 1969.\nThere will be a post film discussion with the Director\, Chuck Smith\, and Co-Producer Myles\nAronowitz moderated by Kristi Zea. The Community Partner for the evening is Main Street Beat.\nDoors to the Nyack Center open at 7:30pm\, and the film begins at 8pm.
