Wild World of Slime Molds

June 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$4

Slime molds: what are they? They are the inspiration for sci fi movie monsters; are brainless yet capable of seemingly intelligent behavior; are not animal, plant, nor fungi; and they can be fun pets! Join naturalist, Taro Ietaka, for an exploration of these interesting and unusual organisms. We’ll begin with a presentation in the gallery, followed by an adventure to find slime molds in nature. We’ll make our way back to the gallery to observe our findings under a microscope and create slime-ariums for everyone to take home! Cost: $4. Max: 20 people.
