(Virtual Book Discussion) First Phone: A Child’s Guide to Digital Responsibility, Safety and Etiquette by author Catherine Pearlman

November 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Screens have never been more a part of kids’ lives. It is a constant battle to manage screen time and keep kids connected to the world off the internet. Dr. Catherine Pearlman has tips to ensure kids stay safe, smart and kind online. Some topics that will be discussed include boundaries, digital etiquette, safety, self-care, social media, cyberbullying, sexting, sleep, when to google and when not to, and scams/phishing. Dr. Pearlman will also explain how and when to monitor children’s phones, how to limit time on social media, and why it’s so important to turn off notifications and keep phones out of the bedroom. This event will be a presentation but will leave time for questions.
