|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 11:30 am, repeating indefinitely

Free

Join Nicole Byrnes in this family-friendly event and learn about the positive aspects of fishing from both an environmental and mental health perspective. After a brief educational session, attendees will be guided through a fishing session at Swan Lake, rods and artificial lures will be provided. This program is intended for a youth audience. All individuals under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian at least 21 years of age, but please only register those who intend to participate. For those interested in fly fishing, visit our table in the courtyard to chat with Len Savanella about the basics including equipment, best practices, and locations to fish in our area. You can also observe Len tying flies, which is an art form in and of itself! Max: 10 people per session. Cost: FREE. PLEASE NOTE: individuals over the age of 16 intending to fish must have a New York State fishing license, which can be acquired on the DEC’s website: https://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6091.html (Those under the age of 16 do not require a fishing license.)
