Shames JCC Kids-Friendly Seder Workshop
April 14 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pmFree – $5
A How-To to Keep Kids Interested as the Passover Seder Progresses
Whether you are hosting a Passover Seder or going to someone else’s house, this hands on workshop taught by Shames’ Jewish Life Coordinator, Rabbi Ben Newman is designed to aid parents in keeping kids ages 0-8 engaged and excited.
The workshop will be held at the JCC, 371 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, on Sunday, April 14, at 10:30 AM. Childcare will be available through Kidspace.
This practical, hands on workshop will include 10 ideas for how to make a Seder kid friendly. These include creating Seder Bingo Cards where each child gets a different card at the start of the Seder with words (or pictures for those too young to read) mentioned throughout the Seder. When card is filled, the child wins and gets a prize.
Another idea is to create a plague bag for each child which includes masks and other items to represent the Ten Plagues. As each plague is mentioned in the Seder, the child takes out the appropriate item.
To learn about these and 8 other ideas, reserve your spot by contacting Rabbi Newman at firstname.lastname@example.org. Free to members. $5 to others. Reservations for children must also be made through Kidspace.
