Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn stars as the globe-trotting Princess Anne, a young royal in the midst of a highly publicized tour of Europe’s capital cities. When she and her entourage arrive in Rome, she begins to rebel against her restricted, regimented schedule. One night, after falling asleep on a bench because of prescription medication, she is found by Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), an American newspaper reporter stationed in Rome. Once Joe realizes who he’s met, he lets his editor know he may have an exclusive story on his hands. But love, as it so often does in classic Hollywood cinema, gets in the way of Joe’s hot scoop. Beautifully photographed entirely on location in Italy—one of the very first Hollywood productions to do so—at the insistence of masterful director William Wyler (Mrs. Miniver, Ben-Hur), Roman Holiday is a gorgeous and funny romantic comedy that makes for perfect Valentine’s Day viewing!
