Rewilding Your Backyard: A PLAN it WILD virtual event
October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pmFree
On Wednesday, September 16th from 6 to 7pm, PLAN it WILD will host a virtual backyard meadow conversion event on the Bedford Estate of Murray Fisher (founder of the Billion Oyster Project) taking the viewer through the necessary and gratifying steps of bringing back habitat to your home. During this live ZOOM event we will lead a tour of his Bedford backyard and engage in expert discussion about a lawn converted into a beautiful meadow in Westchester. Murray Fisher, will first lead us through his meadow, giving us a show and tell of what he’s planted, why he chose certain native plants, as well as identify any pollinators along the way. He will interview Amanda Bayley (CEO and co-founder of PLAN it WILD) and Filippine Hoogland of Healthy Yards Westchester, who each head up high-profile, women-run, innovative organizations & companies that are making a difference in the rewilding and pollinator movements. Join us to learn about the benefits of native plants and the importance of pollinators to our environment from the perspectives of a homeowner and ecological gardening experts. Landscape aesthetics and Mindful Maintenance will also be discussed, and audience questions will be welcomed. Registration is Free on our Events page!
