Responding to Opioid Overdose – Naloxone (Narcan) Training
October 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
Naloxone (Brand name Narcan) is an intranasal medication that can be used to reverse opioid overdose. Last year in the US, there were 109,680 Americans who lost their lives to opioid overdose, many involving powerful synthetic opioids like Fentanyl. These statistics represent a vast increase in overdose deaths from previous years. Using naloxone and other evidence-based prevention and harm-reduction strategies, we as a community can help reduce overdose deaths.
This FREE training will teach you how to recognize opioid overdose, and how to administer naloxone. All participants will receive a free opioid overdose rescue kit including naloxone. All ages are welcome, parents are encouraged to attend.
