
Origami Workshop

Learn the art of origami with this beginner’s course led by artist and author Eleanor Kwei. In this workshop students will be introduced to a brief history of origami, basic folding techniques, and a variety of different folds and their specific uses. Each student will leave the workshop with three unique origami preparations, including a twisted rose made with heavy use of squash folds and a charismatic turtle. All registered participants will be provided with supplies.
About Eleanor Kwei:
Artist/instructor Eleanor Kwei is a pen & ink artist and graphic designer with a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art, San Francisco. For 20 years she worked in the publishing industry designing/illustrating non-fiction books in Arts & Crafts for general readers. Being born in Greece to diplomat parents and having lived in four continents, enabled Eleanor to study a variety of classical art styles and traditional craft techniques. She is the author of an instructional book entitled Wall Art: Geometric Origami published in 2018, and has been teaching Origami Workshops for many years throughout Westchester County and NYC.
