Health & Wellness: Plant-Powered Nutrition for Vibrant Health

If you’ve ever struggled with chronic illness — or supported someone else who has — join the Harrison Library and Plant Powered Metro New York for this empowering introduction to evidence-based nutrition, to fuel our best health. You’ll learn how a diet comprised of whole plant foods can clear arteries, improve gut health, put diabetes into remission, and prevent cognitive decline, among many other feats! Learn the basics of nutrition science with Sapana Shah, MD, MPH, and get inspired by a simple meal demo with Danielle Medina, PPMNY organizer and Food for Life instructor. Take away tips, tools, and resources to take charge of your health now, in the comfort of your own home and kitchen.

Speakers include

Sapana Shah, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Internist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue’s Plant-Based Lifestyle Medicine Program.

Danielle Medina, AFAA, ACE, RYT, is a Plant Powered Metro New York organizer in Brooklyn, a certified Food for Life instructor through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and a certified fitness and yoga instructor.

This program is being offered in collaboration with the Town of Pelham and Tuckahoe Public Libraries.
