Hack Your Novel Workshop Intensive

August 17 @ 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

$124

Every novel is different. Every novel is invented and reinvented from the ground up. No matter our influences and aspirations, no two novels are the same, and there is no formula for writing them (this goes for genre fiction, too!). But no matter how unique your story, there are some reliable hacks every writer can use to make your work richer and more alive. In this class, author Bethany Ball will share the writing hacks she’s been collecting for more than a decade. Whether you’re working on a novel, a short story, or something in between, join Bethany for discussions and exercises that will up your writing game, as well as tips for navigating the publishing process.

Bethany Ball’s debut novel What to Do About the Solomons with Grove Atlantic was published in 2017. Judy Blume called it “funny, sexy, and smart” and it was a New York Times Editors’ Choice. The novel was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the Jewish Book Council’s debut novel prize, and the “The Bridge” Book Award. Her short stories and essays have appeared in The Common, American Literary Review, the Detroit MetroTimes, and LitHub. Her next novel is forthcoming from Grove Atlantic in 2021.
