Demystifying Medicare & Healthcare Coverage for Seniors
October 25 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Demystifying Medicare is perfect for anyone trying to navigate our complicated healthcare system for older adults. The workshop is for people who already have Medicare, as well as those soon to be 65, planning their retirement, or assisting relatives and friends with their medical decisions. Demystifying Medicare is offered as part of the ongoing work of the Westchester Library System to provide authoritative, actionable information that supports seniors in being connected and well-informed.
In this engaging, interactive session you will learn about the various parts of Medicare and the costs associated with medical and drug insurance provided by the government and private companies. Topics include original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, prescription drug plans (Part D), Medigaps (supplemental plans), and cost-saving programs like EPIC that can help seniors with limited resources.
Come and get a handle on this thorny subject in a user-friendly atmosphere. Plan on 3 hours, to include some lighthearted discussion and questions; pre-registration is requested at 914-231-3236. Individual counseling available 10:30 am – 12:30 pm; first come, first served, but registration required.
