Book Launch to Benefit Local Charity

Local author, Samantha Talbot, will be hosting a launch party for her dark historical fantasy novel, A THUNDERBOLT INTO NETTLE, at 3rd Universe Comics. For every copy sold during the event, $3 will be donated to the local charity, Run Against Hunger.

A THUNDERBOLT INTO NETTLE is a dark historical fantasy inspired by the exploits of Countess Elizabeth Bathory, a noblewoman who lived in Hungary in the 17th century and was convicted of the torture and murder of hundreds of young women and girls:

Headstrong daughter of the Silesian nobility, Astrid Rimensberger, willingly enters the service of the infamous Countess Bathory in the guise of a servant to liberate her sister, who has ceased all communication after becoming a student at the countess’s finishing school. Once inside, Astrid doggedly peels away the increasingly chilling layers of her new employer’s closely guarded secrets, at the center of which she discovers a most profane and occult ambition. Astrid will have to cross the steely societal barriers of class and power, as well as traverse her own dark inner terrain, if she hopes to save herself as well as those the countess and the sorceress she employs have sacrificed in service to their perverse legacy.
