Bats: NY’s Caped Crusaders! ♿

October 2 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

$4

Despite what Dracula may have led you to believe, only 3 of over 1,400 bat species worldwide actually suck blood. Most bats prefer insects and help keep insect populations under control; they are also important pollinators and are an integral component of a healthy ecosystem. Celebrate spooky season with naturalist, Josh DiPaola, on a 1-mile twilight walk around Swan Lake in search of these elusive and misunderstood creatures. Learn how they contribute to the environment, threats compromising their populations, and how to safely facilitate their habitat. Max: 20 people. Suggested for ages 8+. Cost: $4. Photo courtesy of D.
