After 45 years in various assignments as a business or department manager, including 27 years as a public administrator, Steve McCabe has announced that he will leave his position as Tarrytown Village Administrator in March 2008.
After March 1, 2008, Steve will continue working three days a week, assisting his successor, and will retire permanently in January of 2009. A search committee will be chaired by Don Marra who followed Steve in Irvington as Village Administrator. Mr. Marra retired earlier this year as well. When asked what he would do in retirement, Steve answered that he planned to play piano to a Thelonious Monk standard, create oil paintings at Picasso levels, and golf like Tiger Woods! Well done, Steve.
