Phelps Emergency Department Dedication

There was much to celebrate at a recent reception marking the completion of the new Emergency Department at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow.

Attendees were invited for preview tours of the 18,000 square-foot facility, which was built at a cost of $11.3 million and paid for almost entirely by contributions from private individuals, businesses and foundations. Pictured here at the reception, which was held on the Phelps campus, are Bonnie D’Emidio of Ossining, executive assistant to Phelps President and CEO Keith Safian; Barbara Allar of Dobbs Ferry, VP of Strategy and Development at Phelps; Thomas and Alice Marie Hales of Briarcliff Manor, after whom the emergency room’s new pediatric section is named; and Lianne Hales-Shaw of Yorktown Heights. At triple the size of the existing emergency department, the new ED features 32 private patient rooms, designated treatment rooms for specialized services and a 24-hour radiology suite.
