Hudson Homes Recognized

For the past 9 years, Westchester Real Estate, Inc. has been a stalwart supporter of the non-profit organization "Back-to-School Clothes for Kids." During that time, the members of Westchester Real Estate’s offices in the county have helped dress 220 local area children for school success!

Recognizing the significance of this tireless effort, the Westchester County Business Journal recognized these efforts on its "Profits and Passions" page in their Sept. 6th issue.

Sending needy Westchester County children back to school in new clothes is a project that Westchester Real Estate, Inc. takes seriously. This year, the company’s offices sponsored 34 children, providing them with new school clothes and supplies. In addition to shopping for the younger children in the program, ages 5-12 years, Westchester Real Estate volunteers also participated in a "teen shopping night" for the older recipients. Volunteers delivered the clothing to local children at area shelters, as well as serving as "shopping assistants" to a group of teens through the Grandparents Coalition at a shopping night held in White Plains.

"The look on the kids’ faces when they open the boxes of clothes, or pick out their first brand new pair of jeans… There’s a real connection. Here you know who benefits; it’s so much better than writing a check," stated Gail Fattizzi, Executive Director for Westchester Real Estate, Inc., an organization of 24 independently-owned real estate offices. "There’s a clear satisfaction in giving something back to the communities where we all live and work, especially where kids are concerned," she added.

Westchester Real Estate, Inc. offices participating in this year’s project included Bronxville-Ley Real Estate in Bronxville; Century 21 Wolff in White Plains, Yonkers, Thornwood and New Rochelle; Hudson Homes in Tarrytown; River Towns GMAC Real Estate in Croton-on-Hudson and Peekskill; Peter J. Riolo Real Estate in Hastings-on-Hudson; Four Seasons Real Estate Center in Mt. Vernon, C.S. McClellan Real Estate in Pelham; and Tri-Crest Realty in Eastchester.
