Owner Steve Vavra attributes the beginning of his successful 17-year-old family business to his wife, Tanya, who developed the original idea of starting a window treatment service.
They have been at their current location at 131 Main Street in Dobbs Ferry for the past six years. Steve and Tanya are the principals in the business with Steve’s brother, Bill, managing the Dobbs Ferry headquarters office. Steve says that the bulk of their current business is mostly residential interspersed with some private and public school assignments from the surrounding area. They have had a long and successful relationship with Hunter Douglas, one of the nation’s top window treatment suppliers.
Steve graduated from Michigan State in 1978 where he played football and rugby. He is a Hastings High School graduate. The Vavras have two young children, with Tanya now spending less time in the family business and more time with the family itself! Telephone (914) 478-5881.
